about

A Natural Thing (Unnatural To Me) tells a story through snapshots in time of love found and lost, a growing detachment from the bright-lit streets of the world, and confusion and disillusionment that ultimately can only be healed by a return to the start. The frantic paranoia of “Everything That Can Be Done,” in which frontman Chris Kang’s repeated chant of “the rudder broke in my hand, I’m getting farther from land” sounds like it could be the hallucinated musings of a man adrift at sea and dying of thirst, are a stark contrast to the lush, dreamlike revelations of “The Night You Walked With Me,” where the lyrics “this feels like something I learned in a dream, but upon waking, somehow stayed with me” hint at a deep and emancipating truth just within grasp.
The Gorilla Press often draws comparisons to Radiohead for their intricate yet accessible arrangements, The Strokes for the snarl and swagger of their vocal delivery and onstage presence, and early Foo Fighters for the way their jagged aesthetic lends an uncanny contrast to their richly melodic catalog.
